Acupuncture, one of the
oldest systems of healing in the world originated in China some 5000 years
ago. The human body has over 2,000 acupuncture points connected by 20
pathways called meridians. These meridians conduct energy, or Qi, between
the surface of the body and its internal organs. The Qi includes and
directly influences the spiritual (“life energy”), mental, emotional, and
physical aspects of life.

Each acupuncture point has a
different effect on the Qi that passes through it. |
When pathways are
obstructed, deficient, excessive, or unbalanced, this causes illness.
Acupuncture restores the balance of Qi throughout the body, restoring health
to the mind and body.
Acupuncture can be performed
with needles, essential oils, colored lights, seed beads, magnets, or direct
pressure placed on specific acupuncture points based on your condition.
Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and designed not to damage the skin. When
practiced by a trained acupuncturist, acupuncture is extremely safe.
Remember it may take several visits to see significant improvement of your
condition.
In the 1970s, the World
Health Organization recognized the ability of acupuncture to treat nearly
four dozen common ailments including:
-
Neuromusculoskeletal
conditions
-
Circulatory disorders
-
Respiratory disorders
-
Gastrointestinal
conditions
-
Emotional & psychological
disorders
-
Addictions to alcohol,
nicotine & other drugs
